Behindwoods Review – 2.5/5

Click for  Full Review:    On the whole, Aadhavan is trademark KSR cinema. It has action, comedy, sentiment, romance, music and masala, not to forget his special appearance at the end. There are flaws, missing pieces, loose ends and a stereotyped climax that might put you off, but commercial cinema is always prone to such errors. If you are not a stickler for logic or substance, there are quite a few positives to sit back and enjoyhttp://www.behindwoods.com/tamil-movie-reviews/reviews-2/aadhavan.html

Sify Review –  Have Fun.

It is an out and out Suriya show. The film rides on the magic of the actor, and his zany shenanigans alone makes it worth a watch. Nayanthara looks beautiful and classy, and for a change her glamour image has not been exploited. She comes across as a homely, girl-next- door. Murali in his last film as the judge who puts a convincing performance while Saroja Devi as the Paati is ok with her trademark over make-up. Vadivel is a scream and is there throughout the film.ttp://sify.com/movies/tamil/review.php?id=14915467&ctid=5&cid=2429

Indiaglitz Review – Above average

There are sequences which are far from logic and stunt sequences defying logic. But Ravikumar has no pretensions as he sounded clear from the first frame that it is a movie for the masses. Produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies, Adhavan is a movie that would bring joy to mass action lovers and front benchers.ttp://www.indiaglitz.com/channels/tamil/review/10891.html

 Tamilnow.com Review – 2.5/5

Aadhavan’ may have good collections over the box office has producers have planned for perfect scheduling of more shows for the first weekend. On the dot, the film is a polished version of so many yesteryear films and leaves nothing impressive.

The film may make it big in box office, but has nothing substantive to watch out on the screens.

Suriya’s KS Ravikumar directed Aadhavan, produced by Udayanidhi Stalin has taken a bumper opening when advance booking opened in Chennai city today (Oct 14).

The film is opening for Diwali on October 17 in 15 Chennai city screens. A spokesman of Sathyam Cinemas , where it is going to have daily 10 shows for the Diwali weekend says: “ By 4 pm we have sold 15, 245 tickets in advance for the first week, which may touch 20,000 by night. The online bookings is phenomenal and we are sold out for the first three days, which is very good. It is the best opening for any film this year.”

The newly renovated Devi Cineplex is opening with Aadhavan in two of its four screens. Says the owner Varadaraja Chettiar: “The opening attraction at Devi which has been totally refurbished is Aadhavan. We are sold out for the weekend and our online booking is fantastic as we have sold nearly 2000 tickets over the net.”

Single screens like AVM Rajeswari, Kasi , I Dreams and Bharath too have been sold out for the first two days.

The Aadhavan advance booking shows Suriya power at the box-office. The soft spoken actor has proved that he has super opening and has got a solid fan base.

Thanks man, was looking to update but it’s been done for me.

As predicted this film starts huge but content wasn’t great.
Nothing new, so I don’t know about sustaining this initial.

Peranmai was better than I expected not being a fan of Jayam Ravi.

Suriya clearly has proved that he could be put in the same pedestal as Rajinikanth, Kamal Hassan and Vijay as far as reach in the southern states is concerned.

The trade says that at the box-office, Suriya has been anointed as the new king.
